Friends of the Maggio

Being “Amici del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino” means having the desire to support and promote the activities of the Theater and the musical culture in Florence. The Association has been present since 1987 for the Theater and the city with an intense program of initiatives: meetings with the Masters and artists in the palaces and city centers, meetings with the work and the figurative art or conferences accompanied by musical auditions and presentation of slides, presentations of the Theater’s musical seasons, presentations of editorial innovations, transfers organized in the main Italian theaters and the most important music festivals, ‘musical conversations’ in the Florentine districts held by volunteer members for the presentation of the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, concerts in the Boboli Gardens during the summer season. He publishes the periodical “Arione” and distributes it for free to the spectators present in the theater during the inaugural evenings of the seasons. The Amici del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino are members of the Italian Confederation of Associations and Foundations for Lyric and Symphonic Music and of Fedora, the European Federation of Associations and Foundations that support the Lyrical Institutions.
