Wolfgang Brunner at the Maggio for the Accademia Bartolomeo Cristofori

Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 PM marks the third event in the concert series organized in collaboration with the Bartolomeo Cristofori Academy.

The program features compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, and Fryderyk Chopin.

The evening’s soloist - performing on the Fritz fortepiano - is Wolfgang Brunner.

Florence, May 22, 2026 – The third event of the concert series organized in collaboration with the Bartolomeo Cristofori Academy, as part of the “Maggio Aperto” festival, will take place on Tuesday, May 26 at 8:00 PM in the Orchestra Hall of the Theatre. The concert will feature Wolfgang Brunner performing on the Fritz fortepiano.

The evening’s extensive musical program opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Fantasia in D minor, K. 397” and “Piano Sonata No. 11 in A major, K. 331 ‘Alla Turca.’”

This will be followed by six compositions by Franz Schubert: two excerpts from the 12 Wiener Deutsche, D. 128 - No. 1 in F major and No. 2 in C major; the “Air russe” from the 6 Moments musicaux, D. 780; the Kupelwieser-Walzer in G major, D Anh. I/14; Waltz No. 9 in F-sharp minor from 12 Valses, 17 Ländler und 9 Écossaises, D. 145; the Ungarische Melodie in B minor, D. 817; and, again from 12 Valses, 17 Ländler und 9 Écossaises, D. 145, Waltz No. 10 in B minor.

The concert concludes with works by Fryderyk Chopin: the Polonaise in G minor, followed by Mazurkas with ornaments and introductions according to and “à la” Pauline Viardot: in F major, Op. 68 No. 3; in F minor, Op. 68 No. 4; in A-flat major, Op. 50 No. 2; in D major, Op. 33 No. 2; in C major, Op. 7 No. 5; and in B-flat major, Op. 7 No. 1.
