Florence, March 13, 2026 – The events of the performance series C’è Musica & Musica 3.0 continue. On Sunday, March 15 at 11:00 a.m., in the Sala Mehta of the Teatro del Maggio, The Wonderful Story of Pascarella at Morritz Castle will be performed: a fascinating show featuring the music of Georg Friedrich Händel.
The program includes a performance of “Water Music” and, to conclude, “Music for the Royal Fireworks,” both in the arrangement by Sir Hamilton Harty.
On the podium conducting the Orchestra del Maggio is Maestro Giulio Arnolfi; the narrator of the performance is the now familiar voice of Florentine actress Gaia Nanni. The text of the show is written by Manuela Critelli.
Speaking about her text, Manuela Critelli highlighted the aspects that most characterize the lively musical morning: “I wrote this play thinking about that precise moment when a child stops fidgeting in their seat and begins to truly listen. Anyone who knows children is aware of it: it is a silent, almost imperceptible instant in which the gaze changes and the body becomes still because something inside has begun to move. Pascarella was created to be that bridge. She is a little girl from 1706 who speaks today’s language, who feels hunger, is afraid of the dark, and has a curiosity bigger than herself. Through her adventure inside the mountain of sweets in Morritz Castle, young spectators discover—without even realizing it—the timbre of an oboe, the breath of a horn, the urgency of a trumpet. They don’t learn it from a lesson: they experience it.”
