Florence, September 7, 2026 – Teatro del Maggio announces that maestro Zubin Mehta will not conduct the concert scheduled for September 26.

Maestro Thomas Guggeis will take the podium, with the programme remaining unchanged: Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 in C minor, for orchestra, chorus and solo voices.

Maestro Mehta and Mrs Nancy Mehta will travel to Florence as planned and will attend the concert.

Teatro del Maggio and Maestro Mehta thank maestro Guggeis, who is currently engaged in rehearsals for the opera Wozzeck, for accepting to conduct the concert and ensuring its regular performance.
