Florence, 2 July 2026 – One year after their last joint performance, the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Filarmonica di Firenze "Gioacchino Rossini" renew their collaboration for a concert on Friday 3 July 2026 at 9 p.m. in the Zubin Mehta Hall.
The orchestra will be conducted by Maestro Giampaolo Lazzeri, with Tommaso Vannucci as violin soloist.
The concert presents a programme of contemporary music offering an original reinterpretation of the operatic tradition that has long shaped Italy's wind band heritage, viewed through a distinctly modern perspective.
The programme opens with The Wishing Well by Rossano Galante, followed by Jonathan Livingston by Luciano Feliciani, the characteristic symphony Giotto by Giovanni Battista Frosali, Parabola, a concerto for violin and wind ensemble by Claudio Josè Boncompagni, the Symphonic Prelude by Enrico Dassetto in an arrangement by Umberto Valesini, and concludes with El Globo de Milà by Hugo Chinesta.
